The Midatlantic

Hailing from the Cape Fear coast of North Carolina, The Midatlantic is coming to Mount Airy, NC to be the headline act at the Carolina Sky Music Festival on August 17th, 2019.

The Midatlantic began to take shape on the Cape Fear coast of NC in 2013. After a hiatus from his solo singer-songwriting, frontman Jason Andre started to work with friends on collaboration projects and took up the mandolin. A new season of songwriting began and the collaborations formed into a group of friends playing on back porches and around bonfires to tiny backyard concerts and small pubs around Willmington, NC.

They released their first 5-song song self titled EP in February of 2014, and their first full-length album in November of 2015.

The Midatlantic began opening for nationally recognized bands such as The Steep Canyon Rangers and Chatham County Line. In 2015, they received runner-up at Floydfest's On-The-Rise competition earning multiple standing ovations, hundreds of new fans, and an invitation to go back the following year.

Their regional following grew in 2017. This helped lead them to significant festivals from Pennsylvania to South Carolina, including Bristol Rhythm & Roots, Brewgaloo, Shakori Hills, Smoked Country Jam, Brewgrass, and North Charleston Music & Arts.

In 2018, the band briefly disbanded and reunited in 2019 to begin a new era with an emphasis on Bluegrass, Americana, and Folk-Rock.
